Mariage à l’indienne round 1 et 2

Round 1

Une première cérémonie de purification / bénédiction autour du feu a eu lieu à la maison du marié la veille de l’invitation officielle.

Des épices et des fleurs ont été jetées sur ce feu sacré.

Nous étions assis dans le salon de la famille, à terre ou sur des canapés, autour d’un prêtre qui animait à la fois le feu et la liturgie.

Cette cérémonie a été suivie d’un repas mêlant curry, dhal, chapati, riz, morue en sauce blanche et gulab jamun.

Le soir, la cérémonie du henné a précédé un dîner à la maison du marié, qu’avec les proches.

Round 2 : Le puja

A l’arrivée, de préférence en tenue traditionnelle, des photographes vous sautent dessus.

Suit une cérémonie étrange où le marié et ses proches ainsi que les proches de la mariée sans la mariée, sont situés dans un temple. C’est l’occasion pour la famille de la mariée d’offrir des cadeaux à la famille du marié.

Tout cela se termine bien sûr par un bon banquet!!!

Indian wedding rounds 1 and 2 :

Round 1

A first function took place the day before the official invitation at the groom’s place, in the living room. This function is about purification and blessing.

A fire was set by the priest in the middle of the living room, and flowers and spices were thrown into this holy fire during this ceremony in sanscrit.

This function has been followed by a lunch with curry, chapati, dhal rice , cod fish and gulab jamun (Indian most common sweet)

In the evening, all the ladies took part to the mindi, a henna ceremony. The closest relatives were present and stayed for dinner.

Round 2 : Puja ceremony

This is a traditional ceremony; almost everybody is wearing Indian traditional clothes, especially kurta pyjamas for men.

When you arrive, many photographs and cameramen are here to shoot you.

After that, a strange engagement ceremony takes place in a temple with the bride and groom’s family. This is the occasion for the bride’s family to offer presents to the groom’s familiy.

And all of that end up with a great banquet!!!
